A Bit of Basketball, More Baptisms, and Chimborazo
This was a good week in the work.
So today we went to a park and played basketball with the
office missionaries from the north mission. It was super fun and a great
opportunity to blow off some steam. I needed that because this was a stressful
week in the offices. I just had a lot to do.
But tonight and tomorrow are going to be really important.
So I do not want to jinx anything but we have 4 people who should be getting
baptized next week. It is a family of three from Columbia and a young man from
Venezuela. I am super excited because this will be my first time baptizing a
family in my mission. I love these people too. So the Colombians are Pedro, Sonia, and Jacob. They are so cool. We first met the Dad, Pedro, on the
street because he was doing some construction on a house and we talked to him.
He told us we could visit him and in the first visit they said they would come
to church. But then they kinda disappeared on us and did not attend or received for like two weeks. So Elder Abilla and I figured they lost interest and we
stopped trying to visit them. But by chance (even though we know that it does
not work that way) we ran into the Dad again and he told us he wanted us to
visit him. So we did and they explained that they did not want to go to church
because they felt that they did not have the right type of clothes. We
explained to them that it does not matter what clothes you wear and then they
started coming to church. The best has been seeing how the ward has taken them
in. So that was a pretty long story but hopefully it sounds better when I tell
you in person. I am still working on my writing.
This week we went to Riobamba, which was the only part of
the mission that I had not been to. Riobamba has this massive volcano called
Chimborazo. It was super cool seeing it up close.
Well that was my week. I love being a missionary. Love the
letters I get.
