Come Listen to a Prophet's Voice, Baptism, and, of course...Encebollados!

It was a pretty cool week.

So Saturday we had a devotional with President Nelson. He gave it in Lima, Peru and it was broadcast to the area or in other words to only countries in South America. He told us a bunch of cool secret things that can only be spoken of here in South America. So sorry I cannot tell you what happened.

Also we had a baptism this weekend! Ericka got baptized. She was a gift from heaven. We did nothing. She was super prepared. She is also the first Venezuelan that has been baptized that I taught. Super cool experience and I love talking to people from Venezuela. They use different words and have a different accent than people here so I often am pretty confused. But I am learning some more Spanish.

Funny experience this week: We were walking on the street and walked past this old guy. We said hi to him and then he yelled out ¨Hello what are you doing?¨ I responded ¨Camellando.¨ It is a local word which means working. And his face immediately lit up and he said ¨Wow you have really learned Spanish.¨ It was super cool to see how people just open up when you know their local customs and words. Also, everyone thinks Elder Rengel is from the US because of his accent. It is hilarious.

Alright I guess I will tell you about what was discussed in the super secret devotional by President Nelson. Basically he just talked about his favorite book in the Book of Mormon, 3rd Nephi. He said that if Christ were to come in this moment he would likely say what he said in 3rd Nephi 11 and the following chapters. Then he pointed out that Joseph of the house of Israel does not have a land of inheritance in the Holy Land. That is because his land of inheritance is here. I had never thought of it that way. Then he explained that we are taking a huge part in the gathering of Israel here. It was a super cool talk. Also Elder Stevenson gave a fire talk about Preach My Gospel. Such a great tool and I invite you to study it more.

Other things this week. We went to Quito. Super awesome.

We wasted 2 hours today trying to find where the bishop worked. Not fun but afterwards we ate some amazing encebollados. You gotta try them.

I am really hoping we have a fire week in the work. I want to work my tail off this week. We will see how it goes.

Watch this awesome video of one of my favorite missionaries saying Que más ve. (Not included here--sorry--I can't load videos)

I really want to send you a voice recording but I always get lazy. I will try this week.

Love y'all,
Elder Tucker
