Venezuelans (everyone's dream), Demonically Possessed Brothers (Looking at you, Gavin), and the Good Visit with the Suicidal Lady...You know + Food, of course

Encebollados--Ecuadorian Fish Soup

A great week in the mission.

So I don't know if you have ever heard of this country called Venezuela. It is pretty close to Ecuador. Well they have been going through big problems and a ton are migrating to Ecuador. And every missionaries dream is to find Venezuelans to teach. It is because they are humble people who are open to new things now that they are in a new country.

So Elder Brown and I have been looking for Venezuelans for quite some time with little success. Until this week. We found 10 Venezuelans to teach. One of the coolest experiences ever was last night being in a house with 8 of them. Usually teaching big groups is difficult because they do not pay a lot of attention. But all 8 of them listened to us intently and seem amazing. It just felt great talking about eternal families to a family that big.

So we found some Venezuelans. Hopefully I will be sending some baptismal photos of them soon.

Conference is in 2 weeks. I am super excited.

This week I also had some really crazy experiences. We have been teaching a 16 year old who was golden but recently has experienced lots of opposition. We had no clue what was going on until we went and knocked on his door this Saturday. His older brother answered the door. We already knew him and he seemed like a chill guy. Until he started telling us that he was a Satan worshiper who had made pacts with the Devil. It is interesting seeing the different ways God reveals to you what is really going on.

I mean if my brother was a devil worshiper and had a demon following him that would make it pretty hard to feel the spirit when I get home. That experience really shook me up as well. It is strange hearing that people do things that one has only heard rumors about.

Also we taught a lady who was having problems with suicide and was planning on killing herself that same night that we taught her. She is still alive so our lesson went pretty well.

For P-day today we made Encebollados with a family. It was amazing and I feel great right now. I just love stuffing myself to the gills out here.

Loving the missionary life,
Elder Tucker
