Some Fruits of One's Labors (and not yoking)
Another super great week in the mission.
My companion and I are trying to get ripped so we have been
going really hard on our exercises in the last couple of days. I am pretty much
already yoked. So yeah Gavin. I will be stronger. Because I also eat a ton of
rice every day. I think it helps.
I need to take a before photo so y'all can see some after
photos.
Something outside of missionary work. This Wednesday we were
eating with a family. The wife is a lawyer. I told her I wanted to be a lawyer
as well and she said it is a lot of reading. Later on as we were talking about
other things she commented that I would make a good lawyer because I know a lot
about diverse topics. That comment made my day.
Speaking of that I think my goal is to go to Duke University
after graduating from BYU. What a great idea to do extra schooling in North
Carolina close to my parents after I do my undergrad. Just wanted to let y'all
know what I think some plans are.
This was another week full of miracles. This 11 year old
girl we have been teaching will be getting baptized this weekend which will be
really exciting. Gianpierre, this 18 year old I baptized 2 months ago, has
decided to go on the mission. That made me so happy for him. A dream of mine
was to still be on the mission and have someone I taught be on the mission as
well.
And we are just seeing good work in the sector. It sucks
having the world cup go on because it can draw away our thoughts but I impress
everyone with my knowledge of soccer. I know a lot. They always say "What a
pleasure to talk to a gringo who knows about soccer."
Racism sucks. I am a little tired of the stares all the
time. Some lady tried to take a picture with me because I am gringo. But I
can't front because I stare as well when I see gringos.
I am loving life and doing very well out here. Next week I
will try to take a tuco photo. Tuco means muscular and it works well with my
last name. Tucker and Tuco.
Feeling the spirit and closeness to Christ is definitely
what I live for.
Elder Tucker
