Wassup Y'all
What a great week!
So we had a baptism this week of Gianpierre Ullauri. He is
18 and rocks. I got to do the baptism and it was an amazing experience. We had
a baptism along with the other Elders and after the baptism us 4 were changing
out of our wet clothes in the bathroom and I just had an indescribable
happiness come over me. I said to myself that there was no other room that I
would want to be in the entire world than this bathroom in Ecuador with these 3
Spanish speakers laughing and talking about how wet we were.
Also the next day the two baptized men had some amazing
comments in the 3rd hour class which was so cool to see how they already making
bomb comments and that the ward was helping them out.
Played Ecua-Volley again. The best sport ever. Look out US
because I am bringing it home. Uncle Jason you probably won't like it when you
first see it but will come to appreciate the genius of Ecua-volley. I would
call it the Jackson Pollock of sports. At first it looks like a horrible
apostate version of volleyball but then as one stays and watches they will see
it is the platonic ideal of the sport commonly called Volleyball.
I finally have gotten over the training hump. What I mean is
I think I finally figured it out. I am not here to make Elder Astuñaupa into
Elder Tucker. I am here to help him become who he wants to be. If the plan of
salvation teaches one anything it is that forcing someone to do something
against their own will never works. So now I am just gonna set a good example,
love, and support him. And man is it so much easier this way. I feel happy
again. I love the mission.
Something awesome about Santo Domingo is that there are not
many mountains so I have seen my first sunset in months. It was so
beautiful.
Often I say to myself I want to be a missionary for the rest
of my life. Anyone know how I can accomplish that dream? I already get sad when
I think about how little time I have left. I promise I love you family and the
US is pretty cool but with Steph Curry out for the entire playoffs there just
does not seem like much for me there right now.
Loving life
Elder Tucker
