Amazing Week

This week was actually super awesome.

We had Zone Conference and interviews with President this week. They are always the best. Exactly what I need and spiritually refreshing. Also, Interviews with President was exactly what I needed. He gave me the advice I needed to help me with my companion. I have been applying it and seen results. I realized that President Barlow is the perfect leader. He only builds, never tears down. He is really funny and wise. He is the best.

Something else great about this week was that Elder Goycochea and I are doing a lot better. We laugh more together and are having fun now. Praying for charity every day really works.

For P-day we went to Teleferico again. It is a ski lift you take up a mountain and then you hike up the mountain. But it was so cloudy that there were no cool views from the mountain. So sorry that I do not have any cool photos. I love being up in that mountain. It is so peaceful and quiet. I do not realize how busy and loud Quito is until I go in that mountain and feel real peace.

My health is now 100% which is great. I think I lost a bit of weight because of my sickness because I did not eat a ton last week. Even thinking of food made me feel sick. But Pepto Bismol works and now I like eating food again and am doing great.

So, Elder Goycochea is Peruvian. Everyone in Latin America says that Peruvian food is amazing and that only French food is better. (They need to try southern food am I right?) One of the characteristics of Peruvian food is that it is spicy. So they put spicy salsa on everything. And they are machines when it comes to spicy food. Today we bought 12 spicy wings from KFC, because it was $5.00, and I am over here dying from the wings because they are spicy. I told Elder Goycochea that these wings were spicy and he was surprised to find out they were spicy. So Peruvians are machines when it comes to spicy.

I woke up one day with a sick cowlick. I know you are jealous.

The work went really well this week. We have been having a lot of cool people let us in. I really like knocking doors but we have not had a lot of opportunities because people are letting us in.

I think I finally am used to the Quito climate and am a true QuiteƱo. This is because everyone always is bundled up even in the red hot sun and they are always complaining about the cold. At the beginning of my mission I would wear a short-sleeved white shirt and be hot all day. But now I feel cold more. It is cool because I sweat less now. Love the mission.

Love y'all

Elder Tucker
