Another Great Week in Paradise
Where to begin where to begin.
Just want to start off with some more cultural notes. So they have
this drink called Pony Malta. Apparently it is non-alcoholic beer and
there are advertisements for it everywhere. So I drank some this week.
The worst thing I have ever had! I could not finish it, it tasted so
bad. So for all y'all out there who want to try beer, don't. I think I
know what it tastes like and it tastes awful.
I ate crab this week. Like an entire crab, like the whole thing. So we
have this amazing investigator family. Familia Cruz, who want us to be
the witnesses at their wedding before they get married. Any who, on
Sunday they ask to have us come over for lunch so they can feed us
crab. So we went and literally they give you the whole crab. You have
to like break off the joints and suck the meat. It is super tasty and
fun.
Not gonna lie, Elder Lambson and I are the cool companionship in the
zone. We are basically the trend setters. We like laughing like Kevin
Hart and acting like we die when we laugh. Everyone else laughs like
us now. It is super funny.
Saturday night was a little rough. All day right outside our house
people were setting up a stage. We did not understand why until about
7 at night. They were going to have a party on our street. Like right
beside our house. With music. And not even good music like Reggatone
(This music is amazing, look it up, unless you speak Spanish, then
don't because you will understand what they are saying). It was like
awful old Latino music. And they played it all night. Needless to say
I had a really hard time sleeping that night. Good times.
But we also had the Christmas dinner this week. Legendary. The
northern part of Quito is so wealthy. So for those keeping track,
Elder Lambson and I had a competition with the Zone Leaders as to who
could make the best Christmas Tie. We asked President who had the best
tie. He said it was a "dead tie." So we still do not know who has the
best tie. We had a ton of fun and learned a lot. Now I am working on
memorizing the Living Christ is Spanish.
For P-day all the Elder in the District went to Mr. Joy. It is like an
indoor playground for all ages in Recreo. Recreo is one of the two
malls in Quito in our mission. It was super fun and I have a ton of
videos and photos that I will send.
The work goes well, we had another record this week of lessons this
week with investigators. 15. And I think we will have a couple of
baptisms this December.
Also I got the letter you sent me. I am waiting to watch the video or
audio tape you sent me until my birthday. I need something special to
look forward too.
I love it here.
Like 3 weeks ago a lot of missionaries were sick but it is not as bad
as it was in the US.
Latacunga is in the Riobamba zone. Maybe that will be one of my
sectors. That would be great. The ward I am in is so Old, the old
mission President served in it when he was a missionary.
I love hearing about the ward and seeing photos.
