Baptism!!!
Everything seems to be going smoothly, Gabriela got there early and
everything looked good. But the font was filling a little slow so we
thought we might have to start the service like 30 minutes late (at
7:30). So we went to the water system and an Elder who has been here a
while tried fidgeting with the system to get more water. It did not
work so we just went back and realized that he accidentally activated
the drain. And all the water was gone.
But miracles exist. We began filling it back up but knew just the hose
was not sufficient. So we asked a neighbor if we could use their hose
and used that to fill the font. But all of that still was not enough.
Luckily most of the young men were there because they had been playing
soccer so we got all the trash cans in the church and filled them with
water from the big tank and ran to pour them in the font. It was
legendary. So the service started at 8:25 and went pretty smoothly
after that.
The work is going so well in Argelia. We broke my record for the
second straight week with 14 lessons with investigators. One is this
18 year old named Michael and he rocks. He has a baptismal date for
the 16. We were just teaching them a lesson and his mom asked how you
go on a mission. We explained and then Micheal said he wanted to go on
a mission. So amazing.
I have seen the confederate flag here a couple of times. Very surprising.
Now for the most important news of this letter. So in Spanish "The
Last Jedi" is "Los Ultimos Jedi." What does this imply? What we have
here is a classic case of pluralism. Los is the plural masculine form
of the. So, the last Jedi are like more than one, not just Luke.
This brings me to what else kinda went down this week. We had
divisions twice this week. I went with Elder Syndegaard and the other
time was with Elder Carter. Yes that Elder Carter, the one I wrote the
letter to. The divisions went really well and the two Elders are
great. During divisions was when I made the Star Wars discovery. Elder
Carter is my zone leader and Elder Lambson is the district leader. We
kill it, the zone leaders really trust us. Also we have the Christmas
dinner this Friday at President's house. Us and the zone leaders are
having a tie contest. We each are making a tie and are going to ask
President which is better. Elder Lambson and I have already prepared a
dope handshake when we win.
If I had to describe Elder Lambson in one word it would be dope. He is
dope. He works hard, is really laid back, and is just a funny guy. I
am so lucky with the companions I have.
Christmas has definitely begun here. We buy groceries at like this
nicer version of Walmart called SuperMaxi and they are always playing
American Christmas music. When Micheal Buble came on I lost it.
Christmas rocks and sucks on the mission.
Another great week in paradise. I love it here and the work is going great.
Elder Tucker
I am glad to hear you enjoyed your thanksgiving, I ate a ham
sandwich to celebrate. People here go hard as well for Christmas which
rocks but it always reminds me of how I wish I was home. The story of
the Alexanders is really cool.
Glad to hear everything is going well.
