An Awesome Week

Where do I begin this week was so amazing.

So we heard from the assistants that our ward is the ward with the most baptisms in the mission. And I am beginning to see how that is true. The work here is going very well. We have a baptism this Saturday for a 17-year-old girl who was taught by the sisters who were here before. It also looks like we are going to have a lot of baptisms in December which is fantastic. It does not feel like we are doing anything special and yet we are just seeing so much success.

For example, on Sunday we had the father of these recent converts come to church and tell the bishop he wants to get married and baptized. We went over to his house last night and had one of the most powerful lessons of my mission. He said he wants to change his entire life, that he is a sinner, and that he wants to get baptized. We shared the restoration and Elder Lambson had them close their eyes when he said the first vision. We asked him how he felt when he heard it and he said an inexplicable peace. The spirit was so present in that lesson and it was awesome.

So this week we did divisions with some other missionaries in our district for an hour because one has been sick all week and cannot leave the house. I chilled with him and found that they have a scale in their house. I decided to weigh myself and got a huge surprise. I weighed 151 pounds. That is a 15 pound increase! I am pretty excited and think I might still be gaining weight. This means I have to go hard in my workouts this week to turn this into muscle.

We played Foosball this week and it was super fun and effective. So we had a family home evening at the house of this girl who is about to be baptized and we really wanted her friend and brother to be present for the lessons. So we decided to play Foosball (they have a Foosball table) and it worked. We had a ton of fun and now these two are always present at lessons.

I am not perfect. So for lunch today we wanted to eat at PizzaBurger. They sell PizzaBurgers which means the bun is a pizza. But it was not open. We are going to try to eat there for my birthday. So we went to this other burger place and we were really hungry so we order a lot of fries and two double burgers each. Mistake. That was a ton of food. Elder Lambson could not finish his two but I did. My stomach is huge right now and I might throw up in this Internet cafe. But an awesome experience.

Elder Lambson is amazing. He is from Inglewood but he does not have that typical SoCal pride which surprises me. He is half Filipino and half white so everyone thinks he is Latino. This is his second to last transfer so I will probably be here when he goes home. He was a zone leader so he is an amazing missionary and I am so lucky to be companions with him. We get along amazing and are always laughing about something. We love quoting the Substitute teacher skit by Key and Peele.

I was a little sick this week but I grinded it out and we still were able to work hard. I had my record for lessons taught to an investigator, 13, and it is awesome.

We play soccer with the other elders and we usually play Gringos against Latinos and we always win. It is pretty weird.

Just another fantastic week in paradise. I love it here.

So I am in the Argelia ward. It is an amazing ward. The dogs here are way better. In Guamanì there were dogs on every street. Here there are almost none and it is not a problem for me at all. I think Guamani with be the worst for the dogs. I really want to send photos but I think my camera is broken. It died the other day and I try charging it and it will not turn on.

I love the long letters. I love everything you sent. I saw a ton of photos of the family. I miss y'all but cannot believe Christmas is almost a month away. It is nice to hear Gavin is going well and that you are having missionary opportunities. Missionary work is the best. I love what you said about being a friend. It is funny because you and dads letters have similar themes which rocks. I love you and love getting pictures.
